What Emoji Copy and Paste Does
This emoji copy and paste tool has every standard emoji through Emoji 17.0 — 1,914 of them across nine categories — searchable by name and keyword. Tap an emoji and it is copied to your clipboard and added to a message box, so you can build a whole string of emoji and copy it in one go.
Pick a skin tone once and all 330 emoji that support skin tones switch to it before you copy. Hovering or focusing an emoji shows its official name, the Unicode codepoints it is made of and the emoji version that introduced it — useful when you need to know whether the person you are sending it to is likely to see it.
The list is generated from emojibase, an open dataset that tracks the official Unicode emoji data files, and is loaded only when this page opens.

Five modifier characters, added in Unicode 8.0 and based on the Fitzpatrick scale, placed directly after a person or hand emoji.

How to Read Your Result
Why one emoji can be several characters
Many emoji are sequences. A skin-toned wave is two codepoints; professions and families join several emoji with an invisible zero-width joiner (U+200D); flags pair two regional-indicator letters. When a device does not know a sequence it shows the parts separately — a person followed by a laptop instead of a technologist, for example.
New emoji take time to appear
Unicode publishes new emoji each year, but phones and computers only draw them after a system update adds the artwork. Emoji 17.0 was released in September 2025; most major platforms added support during 2026. Until then a recipient may see an empty box.
Limitations & Accuracy Notes
- Emoji look different on every platform because each vendor draws its own artwork; this page shows your device’s version.
- Multi-person emoji with two different skin tones are not offered in the tone switcher; the single-tone versions are.
- Some apps convert pasted emoji into their own images or replace them with shortcodes.
