What WebP to JPG Converter Does
This WebP to JPG converter changes WebP images into standard JPG files inside your browser. Drop in one image or a whole batch; each is decoded, drawn onto a canvas and re-encoded as JPG, with the new file size shown next to the original. Nothing is uploaded, so it is quick and private.
WebP is the format many websites now use because it is smaller than JPG at similar quality. It is also the reason a saved image sometimes will not open in an older editor, attach to a form, or print from a kiosk. Converting to JPG fixes that for almost any app.
WebP can contain transparency, which JPG cannot store. Instead of turning transparent areas black, the converter fills them with a matte color you choose — white by default — so logos and cut-out product photos still look right.

How to Read Your Result
Picking a quality
For photos, a quality around 85–92% is usually indistinguishable from the original at a sensible file size. Graphics with text or sharp edges show JPG artifacts sooner; raise the quality or convert to PNG instead.
Why the JPG may be larger
WebP compresses more efficiently than JPG, so the converted file is often bigger than the WebP it came from, even at the same visual quality. That is expected — you are trading size for compatibility.
Do you need to convert at all?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all display WebP, recent versions of macOS Preview open it, and Adobe Photoshop has opened WebP natively since version 23.2. Converting is worth it when a specific app, upload form, printer or older operating system refuses the file — which is still common with office software, some social and marketplace upload forms, and photo kiosks.
Converting many files

Limitations & Accuracy Notes
- Animated WebP files convert to their first frame only.
- Color profiles and metadata such as camera EXIF data are not carried over.
- Very large images are limited by the browser’s maximum canvas size and available memory.
